ACKS: In Search of the Unknown
Welcome to Greyhawk.
Times are rough. You dreamed of a life of adventure: wandering the wilderness, slaying monsters, looting dungeons, reaping the rewards. Somehow, things didn’t work out the way you planned, and you’re stuck in a dead-end job in a small mining town. You’re only a few days from the greatest city in the world, but it may as well be a thousand leagues.
But now, something’s happened. The Lord Mayor of Greyhawk City has been murdered, and the natives are restless. The Watch is looking for able men and women to reinforce their forts and keeps in the borderlands, making sure the tribes out there (humans and monsters alike) don’t get any bright ideas about revolting in this time of uncertainty. And they’re paying well.
You realized that you might never get another chance like this, and before you knew it you found yourself volunteering, packing your bags, and spending your signing bonus on new gear. You’ve been assigned to Blackwall Keep, on the border of the Mistmarsh. Congratulations, soldier. Good luck. Hope you survive the experience.
